2012 Coaching Change: Llano Yellow Jackets
Old Head Coach: David Yeager -- Resigned after leading the Yellow Jackets to a 43-36 record over the last 7 seasons. He leaves as the 2nd all-time winningest coach in Yellow Jackets history.
New Head Coach: Craig Slaughter -- From 3A Sweetwater where he led the Mustangs for the past 3 years to an overall 9-21 record. He was also head coach at 2A Clyde from 2006-2008 where he led the Bulldogs to a 23-12 record. Before that he was the head coach at Hearne from 2002-2005 going 24-19. He has also been an assistant at Ballinger, Menard and Eastland. He has an overall coaching record of 56-52. Coach Slaughter has a history of turning teams around. Hearne had only won 24 games in 11 years prior to his arrival. Clyde was 27-63 in the previous 9 seasons before he came.
Team News: The Yellow Jackets will be moving from Region IV to Region I with the lates UIL re-alignment. They will be in District 8-3A after being in District 25-3A. The other schools in the district will be Brownwood, Burnet, Gatesville, Lampasas and Liberty Hill.
