Ponder Hires 2nd Ever Head Coach

2012 Coaching Change: Ponder Lions

Old Head Coach: Rubin Covington -- Leaving to be the offensive coordinator at Mansfield Lake Ridge which will open in June 2012. He led the Lions in their only 2 years of varsity play to a 7-13 record.

New Head Coach: Russell Phillips -- Has been an assistant with the Lions for the past 2 seasons. He was also a long time assistant at Lewisville.

Team News: The Lions will remain in District 5-2A Division I with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Bowie, Boyd, Callisburg, Paradise, Pilot Point and Whitesboro.
