2012 Coaching Change: Hitchcock Bulldogs
Old Head Coach: Gary Carney -- Retiring after leading the Bulldogs to a combined 87-87 record over 17 seasons. He was their head coach from 1985-1987 and then again from 1998-2011. He was also the head coach at Gilmer Harmony for 1 season going 5-3-2, Port Lavaca Calhoun (1988-1990) 10-18-1 and Santa Fe (1991-1994) 8-32. He has an all-time coaching record of 110-140-3 which was good enough to be in (The all-time coaching wins list.)
New Head Coach: Craig Smith -- Was a Bulldogs assistant coach.
Team News: The Bulldogs are on a 3 year non-winning streak going 12-18. They will be moving to District 13-2A Division II from 14-2A DI with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Boling, Danbury, East Bernard, Tidehaven, Van Vleck and Brazos Consolidated.
