2012 LSG Texas High School Football Team Preview — Sanderson Eagles

Team: Sanderson Eagles (6-6Man Division II)

Stadium: Eagle Stadium (Capacity: 300)

Enrollment: 31 -- Tied for 3rd largest in the district out of 6 schools

Coach: Jerry Garza

Coaches Comments: We will be a very young team with not much depth. Our size and depth will be our biggest challenge this year as well as a very tough 1st half of the season. District Outlook: I look for Grandfalls and Balmorhea to be the top two teams in our district. However, if we can stay healthy I feel that we could compete for a playoff spot.

Notes:

Mike Says: The Eagles will have trouble getting to the playoffs again this year. They lost twice to Grandfalls-Royalty by an average of 25 points. They will need to turn those around and that is where QB Garza can help.

Chris Says: Sanderson has a tough road and their chance of success lies squarely on the shoulders of their starters. If they can stay healthy, they should compete for a playoff bid. A lot rides on the arm of Sophomore QB. Luis Garza in particular but if he can survive the opening stretch of the season, he will be battle-tested for the playoff run.
