2012 Coaching Change: Troup Tigers
Old Head Coach: Chuck Griffin -- Resigned after leading the Tigers for 2 seasons going 6-15. Before taking over the Tigers he was the offensive coordinator at Georgetown for two seasons. Before that he has been an assistant at Borger, Temple, Midland and Hardin-Simmons University. This was his+ first head coaching job.
New Head Coach: Dennis Alexander -- From 1A Harleton where he led the Wildcat to a 78-37 record over the past 10 years. He has also be the head coach at Hughes Springs (1972-1975) going 18-18-4, Daingerfield (1976-1988) going 129-26-4 and Henderson (1989-2001) going 98-45-3. His all-time coaching record is 323-126-11 which ranks #4 on the all-time coaching wins list.
Team News: The Tigers 6-5 record last year ended a 4 year losing streak. They will be moving to District 9-2A Division I from 11-2A with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Big Sandy Harmony, Gladewater Sabine, Jefferson, Tatum and White Oak.
