Mike Says: The Wildcats have now made it to the semifinals 2 years in a row. Each time, they were beaten by a team from district 24-4A (La Marque and Manvel). They have the tradition and with that and lots of returning starters (20 of them) they will make it there now for the 3rd time in a row. They will be the best Division II team in Region IV and make it to the semifinals for the 11th time under coach Danaher. They hope to now improve upon their 1-9 record in those semifinal games. Look for them to go 9-1 or 10-0 in the regular season and make a run to the championship game.

Chris Says: Corpus Christi Calallen is one of those quality programs that will always make a good showing and with a coach like Phil Danaher at the helm, don't expect that to change any time soon. The Wildcats bring back almost all of their offense and the majority of last years defensive starters as well. For that reason, they should do very similar to last year. This year, neither Manvel nor LaMarque are in Class 4A to stand in their way so they are odds on favorite to be in the state championship game. Is this the year that the Wildcats win their first ever state championship title? It very well could be!
