Mike Says: The Bulldogs lost twice to Corsicana last year and was a surprise team in 4A making the Quarterfinals. That should put them at the top of Class 3A this year. The problem is that they were put in one of the toughest districts in all the state (16-3A). They will have to go up against Tyler Chapel Hill (2 consecutive championship games), Henderson (2010 state champion) and Gilmer for 3 playoff spots. Those 3 games are also their final 3 in district play. Pencil these in for LSG Games Of The Week. This years team will feature a very good linebacking core led by A.J.Davis who may be the best in the state and a strong secondary. Look for them to go 7-3 or 8-2 in the regular season.

Chris Says: Kilgore took a solid playoff team last season and went further than most people thought they would. Dropping down to Class 3A should translate to more success. The problem is they drop into the very heart of great Class 3A football in District 16-3A. If they can make it out of the district and into the playoffs, the Bulldogs should have a good run, but their district battles will be hard. The Bulldogs could put up a respectable 7-3 and be left at home come playoff time.
