Mike Says: The Cougars are set to have another great season. On offense, Lorenzo Joe who was their top receiver will be at quarterback this year. The defense has some good players coming back including DB Lawrence. They will need to improve on the 25.8 points per game that they gave up last year. Look for them to go 7-3 or 8-2 in the regular season and come in 2nd in the district behind rival Abilene. Once in the playoffs, they should make it to the Regionals for the 5th consecutive season.

Chris Says: Abilene Cooper brings back a bunch of lettermen, but only about a third of their starters from last year. The Cougars will be very competitive as usual though, because they know their football in Abilene! Because of that, cross town rival, the Abilene Eagles are expected to win district, but both teams will show up come playoff time and these Cougars, who always seem to kick it up a notch at crunch time, will be around for at least three playoff matchups.
