Mike Says: The Cubs were upset early in the playoffs for the 2nd year in a row last season. This season they only bring back 6 starters and 13 lettermen from that team but they will always be a team to beat in Class 4A. Their secondary will be very good this year with Johnson and Davis heading that unit up. On offense OL Schlottmann and WR Chapel will be the ones to watch. Look for them to go 8-2 or 9-1 in the regular season and battle Montgomery for the district title. They will be a Division II playoff team and you can expect them to get over the hurdle this year and go at least 3 rounds in the playoffs.

Chris Says: Brenham is one of those teams you can count on year in and year out. Coach Glen West has put great teams on the field for the past 14 seasons and he looks to have another one lined up this year. Even though they do not bring back a lot of experience, the system at Brenham turns the new kids into winners quickly. I expect them to win District 18-4A and have a good playoff run once again.
