Mike Says: The Cardinals were able to make the playoffs last year despite a 2-8 regular season record. They were able to pull off wins in the last 2 weeks of the season to get into the 2nd season. This year they will need a young defensive front 7 to step up on defense. Last year the defense gave up 26+ points per game in 10 of their 11 games. Look for them to go 5-5 or 4-6 and fight Austin High and Austin Anderson for that 4th playoff spot.

Chris Says: Austin Del Valle is a team that proved you can make the playoffs with 2 wins last season - its just a matter of which two games you win. It is unlikely they will be able to repeat that feat this season. District 15-5A has some serious top-heavy talent with teams like Austin Lake Travis and Austin Westlake. The good news for the Cardinals is that after those two, the district is wide open. They will do a bit better this season, but still have to luck into some district wins to see postseason play. If they do beat the odds again and play in the playoffs, expect a quick exit.
