2013 Coaching Change: Mathis Pirates
Old Head Coach: Ronnie Molina — Leaving after leading the Pirates for the last 2 years to a 12-8 record. Before taking over with the Pirates, he was at 1A McCamey where he led the Badgers to a 7-16-0 record over 2 years. He has also been an assistant coach at Odessa Permian, Eldorado, Ballinger, Kermit and San Angelo Central.
New Head Coach: Tim Holt -- From 2A Georege West where he led the Longhorns on two separate stints to a 81-26-2 record. He was also head coach at 4A Gregory-Portland from 1998-2000 going 16-15-0. He has an all-time coaching record of 168-105-5 which ranks him in the Top 175 in all-time coaching wins. Coach Holt had left to take a head coaching job in Florida. He left there to go for a college position and then accepted this position with the Pirates.
Team News: The Pirates have had 6 consecutive non-losing seasons.
