Hidalgo Promotes Assistant To Replace Scott Ford

2013 Coaching Change: Hidalgo Pirates
Old Head Coach: Scott Ford – Leaving for 2A Elysian Fields. He led the Pirates to a 7-4 record during his 1 season there. He has also been a head coach at 4A Nacogdoches going 4-16 over 2 seasons, 5A Los Fresnos where he went 65-19 in 7 years and 1 year at 4A Joshua going 4-6. Coach Ford has also been an assistant coach at Cleburne, Killeen Ellison and Leander.
New Head Coach: Taihi Jones -- Was an assistant with the Pirates.
Team News: 2012's 7 wins was their best since 2007.
