Coaches Comments: Our depth has been a problem the past couple years due to injuries and numbers. We have a number of quality players going both ways. We will carry between 27 and 30 on next years team. District Outlook: The district is very challenging. Two teams were in the top 10 most of the year and four teams were in the top 20. From top to bottom, it is the toughest district we have been in here in Schulenburg the past 6 years. Truly, any team is capable of beating you on any given night. The teams that survive for the playoffs are battle tested. The 4th playoff spot will certainly expand the chances for another team.

Mike Says: The Shorthorns bring back pretty good talent this year. The problem is that they are in a tough district with Rogers, Blanco and Lexington. Look for them to win 5 or 6 games in the regular season and get that 4th playoff spot.

Chris Says: Coach Tommy Bludau knows that Schulenburg will have to gel quickly if they are to survive in District 14-2A but he has some good horses in his stable to build on. If the Shorthorns can get things going early against the other three powers in district, they will be setup for a good playoff run. I intend to be on hand when they play just up the road from my house against Blanco. These are both solid teams that I love to watch.
