Navasota leads this all-time series 2-1
Games
2012 Navasota 36, Coldspring-Oakhurst 8
2007 Navasota 54, Coldspring-Oakhurst 30
2006 Coldspring-Oakhurst 22, Navasota 17
Last Week:
Navasota beat Willis 35-7
Coldspring-Oakhurst beat Houston C.E. King 39-14
- Mike Says: The Rattlers won this match up in dominating fashion last year just like they did all the way to the championship game at the end of the year. Last week these two offenses went different directions as the Rattlers passed for 350 yards during their victory while Coldspring rushed for 537 yards during their victory. The key to this game is the Navasota defense. Will they be able to stop that Trojan running attack. I say yes.....LB Coy Imhoff 11 tackles and DL Jordan Wells 10 tackles 2 sacks will step up to lead the Rattlers. Navasota Head Coach Lee Fedora will coach his 100th game at Navasota in this one. His record so far is 72-27. After this one...make it 73-27. The RATTLERS win it 30-21!!
- Chris Says: Coldspring-Oakhurst looked excellent in Week Zero as their ground game completely rolled. Folks close to the Trojans are saying this team looks as good as they have since going to the title game in 2010. While I expect to see them again in the Game of the Week next week when they take on La Marque, I think they are going to have a very tough battle on their hands against Navasota this week. This is the first real test for the Rattlers and I think they'll be ready. Navasota moves to 2-0 on the season as the RATTLERS take the win 38-21!!!
- LSG Intern Zach Says: Navasota continues to look like a 3A powerhouse that is here to stay. The Rattlers’ front seven have the talent to contain the Coldspring ground game that went absolutely nuts last week, and their passing offense is better than expected. I think it’s much harder for Navasota to throw the ball this week, but I like them in a defensive battle. Rattlers 17-13.
