Mike Says: We have a re-match of the 2011 2A Division II title game where Refugio won 36-35. We had Refugio as our Pre-Season favorite to win it all ranked #1 and Cisco was our #3 Pre-Season team. The Loboes are our current #1 team. Of course, we have watched the Bobcat QB Travis Quintanilla break passing records and their K Adolfo Cordero make it to the top of the all-time list for extra points made. They are a very dangerous team. In Cisco, they have been playing lights out led by RB Mason Reed. We had picked Cisco to lose to Canadian in the Quarterfinals game in pre-season but they came away from that one with a 42-14 victory. They had already made believers out of us early on with a convincing win over one of Class 1A's top team Stamford when they won 54-14. I am still a believer. We did pick Refugio in the Pre-Season but Cisco is for real and they are seeking some revenge for 2011. The LOBOES win their first championship in 5 tries with a 1 point victory (see their 2011 game) 36-35!!
Chris Says: Yet another preseason champion going for a title and yet another that is going to win it. This will probably be the toughest road any of our preseason picks have, but at the end of the night, they will lift that trophy. I am of course, talking about Jason Herring's Refugio Bobcats. Don't get me wrong, I love Cisco and love everything they have done. I love the idea of a revenge game and them rising up against their rival to erase a 1 point loss from 2 years ago... loving it doesn't make it happen. Refugio had their wake up call against Lago Vista and the tough playoff win against East Bernard. This Bobcat team has more weapons than I have seen in recent years and will not only repeat as champs, but will do so in much more convincing fashion this time. BOBCATS win 42-35!!
LSG Intern William Says: Cisco has been ripping through the playoffs allowing less than 15 points in every game and scoring 45.8 points per game. Refugio has put up some impressive offensive numbers up in the playoffs including 69, 73, and 82. If the Refugio offense can keep scoring than they have a chance of winning this game. However, the Cisco defense is too strong. Cisco wins 35-30.
LSG Fan Poll Says: You would think after a 36-35 title game between these two in 2011, the voting would be very tight as well. Apparently, the fans don't think it is going to be that close at all. Refugio (74%) dominates Cisco (26%) in the fan voting. The fans leave no room for doubt. BOBCATS take the win - the fans have spoken!
