Mike Says: Allen was our pre-season pick to win it all while Pearland came out of nowhere just like they did in 2010. They key is can the Oilers very tough defense led by LB Justin Phillips stop superstar Junior QB Kyler Murray? The Oilers shocked the state in 2010 when they beat Euless Trinity. I don't think Allen will allow that to happen this time. It will be close though. The EAGLES win their 2nd consecutive and 3rd overall championship 28-24!!
Chris Says: Tony Heath's Pearland Oilers swooping in to take an upset victory in a title game against a superpower Dallas area team is a heck of a good story - but hey, that's been done (2010 vs Euless Trinity.) This is a different time and a different Pearland team - no Dustin Garrison to put the team on his back and run all over the opposition this time around. Allen is a true superpower that has demolished teams all year book ended by stunning wins over Southlake Carroll and DeSoto. The EAGLES add another ring 35-10!!
LSG Intern William Says: Both teams had hard fought semi-final games resulting in late 4th quarter comebacks. Allen hadn’t had many close games until they played Desoto. Allen has proven itself to be the top team in the state. Pearland has also played well throughout, however a big blemish on their schedule is their 42-7 lost to Manvel. And for Allen, if number two team Desoto couldn’t beat Allen, who can? Allen wins 35-21.
LSG Fan Poll Says: Allen (77%) is the clear favorite over Pearland (23%) according to the fans. This one is not even close. The EAGLES win the game - the fans have spoken!
