2015 Lone Star Gridiron Class 3A Offensive Player of the Year

Winner: RB Traion Smith (Cameron Yoe)

Cameron Yoe running back Traion Smith wins the award after being last years runner up. He led Yoe to the championship game and they were on their way to winning another championship when he got hurt right before halftime. He finished the season with 3,010 yards rushing which put him in 5th place in the state. For his career, he finished with 889 carries for 7,620 yards scoring 117 total touchdowns which were some of the best career totals all-time.

Runners-up for 2015 Lone Star Gridiron Class 3A Offensive Player of the Year

2. RB Cooper Ogle (Shallowater)

Shallowater running back Cooper Ogle ran the ball for a total of 3,216 yards finishing #2 in the entire state in rushing yards. He led the Mustangs from Shallowater to a 10-3 record and a trip to the Quarterfinals.

3. QB Oscar Flores (Mathis)

Mathis Running Back Oscar Flores ran the ball for a total of 3,179 yards finishing #4 in the entire state in rushing yards. He led the Pirates from Mathis to a 12-3 record which was their best in 16 years and a trip to the Semifinals.

4. RB Leddy French (Brock)

Brock Running Back Leddy French played many roles by doing anything his team needed to win the championship game.

  • Texas Associated Press Sports Editors 2nd Team All-State

5. RB Zach Smith (Grandview)

Grandview Quarterback Zach Smith ended the season with 3,877 yards finishing #10 in the entire state in passing yards. He had record breaking career stats completing 624 of 964 passes for 10,217 yards and 113 touchdowns.
