McLean Breaks Records Enroute to Title

The McLean Tigers and Milford Bulldogs met at AT&T Stadium in Arlington for the 2018 UIL Class 1A DI Texas High School Football State Championship... and a track meet broke out. The Tigers sprinted to a 100-70 win in a contest that was in question until late in the game.
McLean struck first and was up 16-0 shortly into the matchup. TaRon Smith of Milford suddenly woke up and made it a game. The two teams swapped scores and were tied 40-all early on in the 3rd quarter.
At this point, McLean's Ben Crockett already had 4 rushing TDs but was just getting started. By game's end, Crockett set a state championship record with 9 rushing TDs. He added three more through the air as he took home the offensive MVP.
Chism Henderson was awarded the defensive MVP with 7 tackles (6 of them for a loss..) In addition, he had 2 sacks.
The 100 points by McLean also ranked #2 all-time for total points scored in a championship game.
