The most unlikely champion in Texas 7-on-7 State Championship history not only swept to a perfect record in College Station earlier in the month, but they have put the icing on their offseason football cake by winning a National Championship in Atlanta.
We all know they toughest competition they faced all season was here in Texas, but things didn't look good for the Rebels early on. After starting the tournament 1-3 on day one, pretty much everyone had counted Richland out. In a role that suits them fine (unlikely champion) they stormed back giving up only 20 points day two including an amazing 32-0 shutout in the title game against Jupiter Christian of Florida.
A big Lone Star Gridiron CONGRATULATIONS once again to the Richland Rebels - our new 7-on-7 National Champions.
