Galena Park North Shore Will Go For The Record In Lufkin

The Lufkin football team will play host to Galena Park North Shore, tied for the longest regular-season winning streak in Texas high school football history (72 games), on Friday, Oct. 3.

Lufkin was originally scheduled to be idle,  but the Panthers' Sept. 12 game against Nacogdoches was canceled due to Hurricane Ike, leaving them with an opening to fill a 10-game schedule.

North Shore (2-0) canceled last Saturday's game against Southlake Carroll, with which it shares the winning streak.
