H-E-B All-Star Game

The 31st annual H-E-B High School All-Star Game will be played Saturday, May 23rd at 7:30 p.m. at Comalander Stadium.

The game was originally set for May 9, but was postponed because of concerns with the swine flu. This year’s game is sponsored by H-E-B and is coordinated by the Kids Sports Network and the Olmos Kiwanis Club.

The game will feature top high school football players from throughout the San Antonio area. This charity event showcases outstanding high school football seniors from the previous fall season.

The event is conducted jointly by the Kids Sports Network and the Olmos Kiwanis Club with proceeds benefiting area youth charities. In the past 30 years the game has raised over $650,000 for nonprofit organizations.

Over 60 area high schools are offered an opportunity to nominate players for the game. Of the players currently on the roster, 14 received All-State honors, 28 received All-City honors and 71 received All-District honors. Players are geographically divided into East and West squads based on the locations of their schools. The East team coach is the George Pasterchick, longtime coach at St. Gerard's High School, and the West team coach is Angel Cedillo, Holy Cross High School principal.
