Wylie State Qualifying Tournament Pools

Here are the pools, stats, key players and of course my predictions for the Wylie State Qualifying Tournament to be held at SMU.

Pool A: Lake Dallas, Richardson Lake Highlands, Rockwall, West Mesquite

Lake Dallas has gone 2-2 in SQT's this year inlcuding a 53-44 loss to Richardson Pearce in the Frisco Liberty semifinals. Be sure to watch Missouri commit QB James Franklin. Richardson Lake Highlands will also have a great QB to showcase. Ricky Zorn (1962 passing yards in 2008) will be throwing the football around for them. Rockwall will feature TE Adam Dingwell and WR Will Beasley. West Mesquite will bring enough talent to keep things interesting.

Mike's Pick: Lake Dallas

Pool B: Plano, North Mesquite, Lewisville Hebron, Birdville

Plano went 2-1 last week losing to Richardson Pearce in pool play. WR Robert Robinson is a leader for them. North Mesquite will be led by a trio of WR's in Ricki Herod, Devin Patterson and Michael Wheeler. Lewisville Hebron is 3-4 this season including a 26-42 loss to Coppell in the Arlington Bowie semifinals a few weeks ago. Birdville has gone 4-2 in pool play so far. They will be led by another great QB in Josh Dorman.

Mike's Pick: Plano

Pool C: Wylie, South Garland, Dallas Jesuit, Grand Prairie

They host team Wylie is 1-2 this season in SQT's. They will be led by TE Noah Chesier and WR Colby Harper. South Garland is the only team to have qualified already to be playing in this SQT. They have a 4-1 record that includes a win over pool opponent Grand Prairie 38-19. Grand Prairie has gone 1-2 in pool play this year. Dallas Jesuit will have a hard time keeping up with this pool.

Mike's Pick: Wylie

Pool D: Garland Lakeview, Frisco Liberty, Sherman, Plano West

Frisco Liberty went 0-2 in pool play at their SQT last week while Plano West went 0-3. Garland Lakeview and Sherman will be competitive with this pool but this is not a tough pool at all.

Mike's Pick: Plano West

Semifinals:

Lake Dallas vs. Plano
Wylie vs. Plano West

Mike's Picks: Lake Dallas and Wylie

Championship:

Lake Dallas over Wylie
