Coaching Changes — Austin Lake Travis

Austin Lake Travis head coach Chad Morris has accepted the position of co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Tulsa University. Morris has been a Texas high school head coach for 16 years and has led the Cavaliers to back-to-back Class 4A state championships and a 32-0 record in his two years at Lake Travis.
Morris has a coaching record of 166-41 and has coached in six state championship games. He won three state titles (Bay City 2000 and Lake Travis 2008, 2009) and was the state runner up at Elysian Fields (1998, 1999) and Bay City (2001). He also won 11 coach of the year awards.
Coach Morris has coached some very good Quarterbacks during his career. He coached Mississippi quarterback Jevan Snead, Texas quarterback Garrett Gilbert along with Scott Elliott (Tulane), Andrew Smith (North Texas) and Kody Spano (Nebraska).

Lake Travis also announced that defensive coordinator Hank Carter has been named as the Cavaliers interim head coach. Carter coached under Morris at Stephenville and Lake Travis.
