Coaching Changes — Spring

Spring Head Coach Sonny Karas has retired after spending the last 21 years as the main man on the sidelines there. He led the Lions to the quarterfinal playoffs in 2002. His teams have run into troubles lately though by not making the playoffs since 2004 and going 2-8 last season. His ended his career at Spring with a 104-108-2 record.
His replacement will be Sam Parker. Coach Parker was the offensive coordinator at Tyler John Tyler last season. He helped John Tyler make it the regional quarterfinals. The year before that he was the offensive coordinator at Ennis where he got them to the Area round. From 2002-2004, Parker was on the University of Texas coaching staff that saw the team win three straight conference championships. He has been an offensive coordinator throughout his high school coaching career.
