MaxPreps All-America Team Includes Six Texans

Six Texans were recently named to the MaxPreps All-America team. Four were listed on the 1st team while two players were on the 2nd team.
1st Team:
Evan Washington, OL, 6-5, 285, Sr., DeSoto
A 5A first-team all-state selection. He did not allow a sack all season. Evan is the son of former NFL player Marvin Washington.
Jackson Jeffcoat, DL, 6-5, 233, Sr., Plano West
He registered 87 tackles, 8.5 sacks, intercepted two passes, blocked two kicks and forced three fumbles. He was the 8-5A Defensive Player of the Year.
Corey Nelson, LB, 6-1, 200, Sr., Skyline
Named 5A's Defensive Player of the Year and was the leader on a Skyline defense that allowed less than 14 points per game.
Herschel Sims, RB, 5-10, 185, Jr., Abilene
Was a first team all state selection in 5A after rushing for 2,346 yards and 35 TDs. He was the leader of an Abilene team that captured the 5A Division II state title.
2nd Team:
Scotty Young, QB, 6-3, 190, Sr., Denton Ryan
He was 288 of 453 for 4,470 yards and 64 TDs and was a 4A all-state selection.
Reggie Wilson, DL, 6-4, 240, Sr., Haltom
Was the 3-5A Defensive MVP. He registered 60 tackles, 25 for loss. He also had nine sacks and 25 QB pressures.
