Updated: March 6, 2010
Midlothian has found a replacement for Robby Clark who resigned as Head Coach after several of his players were involved in brawl. Lee Wiginton who coached 3A Mexia for the last 2 seasons will now take over.
Coach Clark leaves after 4 years with the Panthers. His 4 year record was 12-28 including 1-9 in 2009 with no playoff apperances. He has a 21-40 career record. Clark will be the offensive coordinator at Odessa Permian in 2010.
Lee Wiginton comes to Midlothian after posting a 17-7 record at Mexia over the last 2 seasons. He was 29-18 at 2A Comfort from 2004-2007 and was 29-18 at 1A Bosqueville from 2000-2003. His overal record is 75-43-0. Wigingtons teams have reached the playoffs eight of the last 10 years. During his last two years at Mexia, they were the District 19-3A champs and won first round games before being eliminated by Carthage and Gilmer.
This will be a very tough job for Wiginton. Midlothian is moving up to Class 5A for the first time in its history. They also have 5 consecutive non winning seasons and have only 1 winning season in the last 10. The Panthers will be competing in 5-5A which includes Cedar Hill, Duncanville, Grand Prairie, Mansfield, Mansfield Legacy, Mansfield Timberview and South Grand Prairie.
