Updated: April 17, 2010
Azle has hired a former Hornet as their next head coach. Devon Dorris will replace Eddie Paul who resigned last month
Pual leaves after three years at the helm. He resigns after going 5-25 during his time with the Hornets.
Dorris graduated from Azle in 1995. He returned after college to be the freshman head coach and then secondary coach for the varsity until 2006. He then took a job as secondary coach at Saginaw Boswell. He was Boswells defensive coordinator the past three years.
Boswell was in the same district with Azle last season. Boswell went 7-4 while Azle went 3-7. After a second-round playoff run in 2005, Azle has only eight wins in the last four seasons. They are currently on a 4 year losing streak. They will be a member of District 5-4A along with Aledo, Saginaw Boswell, Keller Timber Creek, North Richland Hills Birdville, Justin Northwest Nelson, Springtown and Fort Worth Brewer.
