Coaching Changes — Huntsville

Huntsville has replaced Mitchell Coey who announced his resignation at the end of the season with defensive coordinator and assistant head coach Shane Martin.

Coey missed time with the team last season due to a bulging disc and bone spurs in his neck. He will remain in his role as athletic director. His overall record during his 6 seasons with the Hornets was 30-31. (15-6 over the last 2 seasons). The Hornets captured a co-championship with Brenham in 2009 and won the schools first playoff game in 18 years.

Martin came to Huntsville in 2008 and often filled in for Coey last fall. They will compete in District 18-4A for the next 2 seasons with Conroe Caney Creek, Humble, Humble Kingwood Park, Humble Summer Creek, New Caney, New Caney Porter and Willis.
