Coaching Changes — Hutto

Hutto has hired Fort Worth Arlington Heights head coach Steven Hale to lead the Hippos. Hale replaces long time head coach Lee Penland, who left for Round Rock McNeil.

Penland had been with Hutto since 1998 where he had a 68-59 record. Since moving up to 4A though they have gone 11-9 in 2 seasons and went 5-5 last season.

Arlington Heights was Hales first Head Coaching job. He led the Yellow Jacktes to a 16-7 record during his two years with them. His other coaching jobs have been an assistant at La Marque and Hillsboro and defensive coordinator at Sulphur Springs.

Hutto will be part of District 16-4A along with Bastrop, Bryan Rudder, Elgin, Manor, Pflugerville Connally and Pflugerville Hendrickson.
