Updated: April 12, 2010
Los Fresnos has named Clint Finley as the schools new head coach and athletic director. Finley replaces Scott Ford who resigned to become the athletic director and head coach at Nacogdoches.
Ford had a record of 65-19 at Los Fresnos. He took Los Fresnos to the playoffs in six of his seven seasons and went 7-4 this past season. He will leave as the all-time win leader in Los Fresnos history.
Finley was an assistant at Cleburne and Schulenburg before joining the Memorial staff. His dad is Mickey Finley who is the head coach at Victoria East. Clint was going to be the offensive coordinator on his staff before taking the Los Fresnos job. Finley played pro ball for Kansas City and Dallas and played his college years at Nebraska.
Los Fresnos will be part of District 32-5A. Other schools in that district are Brownsville Hanna, Brownsville Lopez, Brownsville Pace, Brownsville Porter, Brownsville Rivera, San Benito and Weslaco.
