Coaching Changes — Pasadena Dobie
-
Updated: April 24, 2010
Pasadena Dobie has hired Jim Phillips as their next head coach to replace Bobby Cotton. Cotton leaves after going 10-19 during his 3 seasons with the Longhorns.
Phillips comes over from Greenville where he has coached the Lions to a 8-12 record during his two seasons there. His other head coaching position was with Waller from 1991-2008. Phillips is actually the second coach the board has approved. Giddings head coach Derek Fitzhenry decided not to take the job earlier in the year after being offered.
Phillips will have a tough job ahead of him. The Longhorns finished 4-6 last seasons and have not been to the playoffs in 5 seaons. Their district is not really tough though. They will be part of District 22-5A along with Deer Park, Pasadena, Pasadena Memorial, Pasadena Rayburn and Pasadena South Houston.
