Cypress Creek will be the host of this SQT. Here are the pools, players to watch and of course our predictions.

Pool A: Cypress Creek, Cypress Ranch, Langham Creek, Strake Jesuit

Cypress Creek is the host and will look to qualify after missing out in two semifinals last year and finishing 1-2 last week at the Texans Sunday SQT. They have great athletes in QB Chuckie Keeton 1096 yards 14 TDs rushing 1366 yards 10 TDs passing, RB Jermichael Selders 1533 yards 23 TDs rushing and RB Cameron Gary. Cypress Ranch went 0-3 in SQT play last year but will try again during their first year of varsity play. Langham Creek was the only team in this pool to make it to the state championshipas last year but they went 0-3 in last weeks Texans SQT. Houston Strake Jesuit who finished 1-5 in SQT play last season will be lead by LB Will Huskinson and DB Evan Fichter.

Pool B: Cypress Fairbanks, Cypress Springs, Katy Cinco Ranch, Rosenberg Terry

Cypress Fairbanks was the Runner Up in the state tournament last year losing by a last minute INT return for a TD by Round Rock Stony Point. They will rely on RB Darius Barnes to take them back. Katy Cinco Ranch will look to improve on their 1-2 finish last week at the Texans SQT. They will feature superstar RB K.C. Nlemchi 2388 yards 28 TDs rushing 315 yards 4 TDs receiving commmitted to SMU and WR Bobby Waid. Cypress Springs looks to avenge a semifinal loss at this SQT last season. Rosenberg Terry always brings a very good SQT team.

Mike Picks: Katy Cinco Ranch

Pool C: Cypress Falls, Cypress Woods, Klein Forest, Tomball

Klein Forest and Tomball both made it to the state tournament last year while Cypress Woods lost in the semifinals of this SQT last year and Cypress Falls lost twice in semifinal games. Tomball went 0-3 last week at the Texans SQT while Cypress Woods went 2-1 led by WR's Clesmie Burden and Patrick Gant. Cypress Falls is always a dangerous team with RB Pierre Lucas and WR Dean Johnson. Klein Forest will be a very fun team to watch with superstar JR QB Matt Davis leading the way. He will bring along TE Kristian Bryant and LB D.J. Simon.

Mike Picks: Klein Forest

Pool D: Cypress Lakes, Jersey Village, Houston Stratford, The Woodlands

The pool will feature this SQT's champion and runner up from last season. In 2009, Jersey Village beat The Woodlands 31-20. Only Cypress Lakes (0-3 in SQT play last year) did not make it to the state championships last year out of this pool. Houston Stratford went 3-0 last week at the Texans SQT led by DB Matt Sherrard but they fell to Klein Collins in the semifinal game. The Woodlands finished 2-1 last week at the Texans SQT and will be a strong contender with QB Joseph Schneider and RB Daniel Lasco 1520 yards 17 TDs. Jersey Village always brings a strong team to the SQTs.
