Coaching Changes — Early

Early has hired Brad Bowden to be their next head coach and athletic director. Bowden replaces Robbie Tindol who resigned after seven seasons with the Longhorns.

Tindol compiled a 44-38 record and led Early to four playoff appearances, three district championships and two trips to the state semifinals. He also led the team that ended the schools 47 year playoff drought. Early finsihed 2009 with a 2-8 record though, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2004.

Bowden comes over after being the head coach at San Angelo Grape Creek for the past three seasons. He compiled an 8-22 overall record and went 2-8 last year. Before going to Grape Creek he was an assistant coach at Brownwood, Aransas Pass and Clifton.

Early will be a member of District 3-2A Division I along with Ballinger, Bangs, Brady, Clyde, Merkel and Tuscola Jim Ned. The Longhorns have gone 7-14 over last 2 seasons after going 32-9 in the previous 3 seasons.
