SAN MARCOS - San Marcos Academy will be holding the SMA Bear Club All-Pro Football Camp from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19.

Former Houston Oilers and arena football coach Ed Biles (top picture) will headline the free camp along with former Texas Copperheads Head Coach Bryan Blake (bottom picture) of the Arena Football League 2 and SMA Head Football Coach Les Davis, formerly of Canyon High School in New Braunfels.

Many other area players and football stars, as well as coaches, are scheduled to appear at the one-day camp.

“One of my goals when I started here was to give all kids the opportunity to attend a free football summer camp and increase their skill levels prior to the upcoming season,” Ronald Oswalt, SMA Athletic Development Director, said.

Texas high school football, camp, football, nfl, combineMany talented high school football players are overlooked by college/university coaches and recruiters because they have not been marketed in camps where their talents can be noticed. The Bear Club at San Marcos Academy hopes to provide the opportunity for Central Texas athletes to get the exposure during the 2010 SMA Bear Club Camp. Incoming 9th - 12th grade athletes can improve their skills and be seen by coaches and recruiters at no charge.

Registration is open now for this football camp opportunity. Enrollment for the free camp will be limited to 8th - 12th grade athletes. The registration deadline is June 1.
