UIL 1A & 2A Playoff Decision
-
Updated: June 16, 2010
The UIL has announced that the number of teams advancing to the Class 1A and 2A playoffs will be three teams instead of two. Each district champion will receive an automatic bye in the bi-district round.
This decision reverses the 2009 ballot where superintendents from class 1A and 2A voted to divide football brackets into two divisions (Division I and Division II) prior to the start of the season. This setup had only allowed two teams from each district to advance to the playoffs.
