Notes:
The Cavliers have won 3 consecutive state championships and are primed for their 4th. They currently have one of the all-time longest winning streaks going with 46 consecutive wins (4th place all-time). QB Michael Brewer did not miss a beat filling in for the great Garrett Gilbert. He has a lot of great targets in Floyd, Gillette and Gilbert. The defense is often overlooked because of how great the offense is but they are one of the best. The only thing that may trip Lake Travis up is that they now have their third head coach in four years. They will have two great pre-district games against Austin Westlake (5A Division I Runner Up) and Aledo (4A Division II Champion). Those two games are a tossup but they should win all the others. Expect them to go 9-1 and make a trip to the semifinals if not another championship appearance.
History:
3 Consecutive 4A Championships
46 consecutive wins (4th place all-time)
6 CONSECUTIVE WINNING SEASONS (all 8+ wins...before that no 8 + win season in the 20 years since the school opened in 1984)
Playoff Appearances (7) 2000,2004,2005,2006,2007,2008,2009
6th consecutive playoff appearance
all-time Playoff Record : 20-4
18 consecutive playoff wins
Until 2007, no Lake Travis team had reached the third round of the playoffs. The Cavaliers had just four winning seasons since 1985 and were 0-10 in 2002
“Bonfire Battle” vs Dripping Springs Tigers Lake Travis leads the series 9-7 since 1994 but the Cavaliers have won the last 7 in a row
