More Central Texas HS Football games to be televised!

AUSTIN — KBVO, sister station of KXAN, will broadcast 11 Central Texas high school games for the 2010 season. Among the games listed, are two at BISD Memorial Stadium. Bastrop will host Seguin on Sept. 2 in front of KBVO-TV cameras before returning to television on Oct. 28 when the Bears host rival Elgin. All games will be televised live at 7 p.m. beginning Thursday Aug. 26. KXAN sports director Roger Wallace will provide play-by-play commentary for the games.

“The creation of our new local sports-focused station, KBVO, has allowed us a great opportunity to provide live high school games on Thursday nights for years to come,” said Eric Lassberg, KXAN general manager. “So far, the community feedback has been incredible excitement, which is what it’s all about.”
The season will kick off on Aug. 26 with the Taco Shack Bowl between Anderson and McCallum, followed by Seguin-Bastrop on Sept. 2. Other key games include Cedar Park-Austin on Sept. 16 and Cedar Park-Lake Travis on Nov. 4.
