Highlights

Houston Memorial @ Pearland : LSG was there and it turned into a wild one as Pearland held off Memorial 49-42. Memorial fought back the entire game as Pearland led the entire way until the Mustangs scored a TD after a 97 yard drive to bring the game within two points....the two point conversion was good and the score was tied 42 all with 50 seconds left. Pearland got the ball at their own 40 after the kickoff and was able to score 17 seconds later on a long pass down the middle to make it 49-42 Pearland. Memorial made it interesting at the end but their last pass was picked off at the Pearland 13 yard line.

Longview @ Allen : The Allen Eagles scored a Touchdown with only 20 seconds remaining to defeat the Lobos 24-20. Allens final drive started with only 2:39 remaining in the game as they went 73 yards on 8 plays.

Cibolo Steele @ Kerrville Tivy : Tivy quarterback Johnny Manziel threw for 428 yards and six TDs and rushed for 130 yards and two scores during their 54-45 win over Steele. He completed an amazing 34 of 42 passes. On the other side of the ball Steele's star running back Malcolm Brown had 353 rushing yards and four TDs. During this game Cibilo Steele played in their 50th all-time game...it was also their Head Coach Michael Jinks 50th game a Cibolo. Kerrville Tivy Head Coach Mark Smith won his 75th all-time win at Kerrville Tivy.

Aledo @ Austin Lake Travis : Lake Travis's winning streak has finally been ended at 48 games as Aledo won 14-10. It was the Cavaliers first loss since they were defeated 28-21 by Austin Westlake in week 2 of the 2007 season. Lake Travis star quarterback Michael Brewer did not play because of a shoulder injury.

Stephenville @ Brownwood featured one of 4A's best against one of 3A's best and 3A won as Brownwood took care of business in surprising manner 49-16!! The Lions scored 35 points in the 2nd half led by quarterback Graylon Brown who passed for 332 yards and 6 touchdowns. His favorite target was of course Jaxon Shipley, who caught 8 passes for 110 yards for 4 Touchdowns.....all in the second half.

Tyler John Tyler Lions snapped a four game losing streak vs. Tyler Lee with a 17-0 win in the 55th meeting of the Rose City Rivalry Rose City Rivalry Tyler Lee leads the series 12-6 since 1994 and is 12-1 since 1999 John Tyler leads the overall series 28-26-1

Sulphur Springs won a wild one over Whitehouse 40-39. Whitehouse quarterback Hunter Taylor threw for 403 yards on 29 of 39 passing while Whitehouse WR Trey Metoyer had a great game, making 17 catches for 232 yards and three touchdowns.

Gilmer has lost 2 in a row for the first time since 2000.

Gregory Portland used long drives of 15 plays, 13 plays and 10 plays to score the needed touchdowns and beat Corpus Christi Carroll 20-7 in the Battle of the Bridge.

Clear Springs and Katy Cinco Ranch battled it out in a great game Saturday and LSG was there. Clear Springs came in with a solid defense and an exciting offensive players in Howard Matthews and they took a 14-6 lead at halftime. Behind running back K.C. Nlemchi, Cinco Ranch stormed back in the 2nd half and with a little over 8 minutes left in the game, the Cougars led 38-21 and the Chargers looked to have given it a good try. BUT...Clear Springs was not done. They scored quickly to make
it 38-28. They then stopped Cinco Ranch on 3 plays to get the back back and then scored again with only about 2 minutes remaining to make it 38-35. The onside kick try was recovered by Clear Springs but the ball only went 9 1/2 yards and Cinco Ranch took over. Behind some hard running by Nlemchi, the Cougars got the needed first down to run out the clock. It was another exciting night.
