James Chase Is New San Marcos Coach After Absence of 18 Years

2011 Coaching Change: San Marcos Rattlers
Old Head Coach: Steve Van Nest — Leaves after coaching the Rattlers to a 26-39 record over the last six years. Before taking over at head coach he was an assistant for seven seasons.
New Head Coach: James Chase -- Has not coached since 1992. His last job was as an assistant with Medina Valley. Before that he was an assistant coach at Sam Houston State. He was the head coach at Huntsville from 1970-1974 leading the Hornets to a 27-19-4 record.
Team News: The Rattlers are on a 4 year losing streak including going 5-24 over the last three seasons.
