The Newton Eagles History Page Has Been Updated
It was a tough season for the Eagles last year as legendary coach Curtis Barbay passed away at midseason. The Eagles rallied though and had another 8 win season. That makes it an incredible 17 years in a row of having 8+ wins in a season.
This season the Eagles will be right in the thick of things again. They will battle Tatum, Crockett and Cameron Yoe for the Region III title. Cameron Yoe bumped the Eagles out of the playoffs last year in the Area round.
The Eagles are a Top 10 Class 2A Divisioon I team. This will be their first full season with W.T. Johnston so it will be interesting to see how it goes. This should be another 8+ win season for Newton.
