Mike Says: Both of these teams feature pass/run QB's. Albany's Jake Bumguardner (731 passing, 567 rushing) and Stamford's Hagen Hutchinson (1,137 passing, 490 rushing) will keep the scoreboard lit up. Albany's closest win is a 21 point victory over Coleman. They feature a very good defense led by LB Zach Boyett (47 tackles), LB Josh Hudman (46 tackles), DB Joseph Richards (44 tackles), LB Chance Winters (40 tackles) and DL Cody Petree (29 tackles, 3 sacks). Stamford's big win of the season was over Holliday (#6 2A DII). Their defense is led by LB Mario Gonzales (77 tackles) and DL Christian Pachicano (36 tackles, 3 sacks). The big difference will be their WR/DB Jessie Ramos (34-770 22.65 avg 9 TDs, 14 tackles, 4 INTs). The BULLDOGS win it 28-21!!!
Chris Says: This will be a fun game regardless of who wins. Both squads are absolutely lighting up the scoreboards while proving to be very stingy on the other side of the ball. Albany has a slightly more balanced approach to offense and although Stamford came up big against Holliday, and the Lions have yet to be really challenged, I think they are ready to take that next step. Expect fireworks. Expect dramatic plays. Expect a game that will turn on a dime. Expect the Albany LIONS to take this one 27-21!!!
