La Porte Edges Field to win Weekly Fan Champs Award!!

The first-ever Texas High School Football Fan Champs Award goes to the La Porte Bulldogs!  The contest, begun this week, recognizes the teams that have done the most on Lone Star Gridiron to let fans around the state know their team spirit is strong.

This first award was very hotly contested as there is no shortage of teams around the state showing their love for Texas high school football.

Teams earn points in several ways:

* Calling in audio support for their team to our fan feedback line 713-568-6361 (game reports, shoutouts to players or their school, you name it)

* Sending in video from the game (YouTube or other hosted video)

* Leaving comments here on the website

* Sending photos from the game

* Interacting with LSG on our facebook page (questions, comments, photos, poll participation etc.)

* Interacting with LSG on our twitter (@LSGridiron - mentions, retweets, questions etc.)

In order to keep fans from "gaming the system," the point system is kept top secret!

Over 60 teams scored points this opening week but in the end La Porte edged out all the competion to become the first-ever Texas High School Football Fan Champs Award winner!

Congratulations to all of the teams for beating out over 1,400 public schools around the state.
