Lake Travis ISD Selects FieldTurf Revolution

The Lake Travis ISD school board elected to go with a new turf system for Lake Travis High School Stadium. The unanimous decision was to install FieldTurf Revolution approved by the school district’s board of trustees.

“Overall, this turf installation will have a direct impact on our entire extracurricular program offerings,” said Gary Briley, LTISD Director of Extracurricular Programs. “The installation of artificial turf at our main stadium field will allow our programs like band, baseball, cheer, cross country, dance, football, golf, and soccer to expand and use the facility year-round for skill and drill conditioning work. Trainers could use it for walking, running and the rehabilitation of injured students in all programs. We also anticipate an increase in facility rentals, not to mention the water conservation efforts to be realized from not having to spend money on field irrigation as we currently do.”

The FieldTurf Revolution fiber is reported by the manufacturer to provide a soft, strong monofilament fiber with extraordinary durability and longevity. FieldTurf is part of Tarkett Sports, a Division of the Tarkett Group. Tarkett Sports is the largest entity in the sports and landscape surfacing industries.

Lake Travis High School joins a growing list of schools from the Texas to install FieldTurf. That list includes Abilene Independent School District, St. Thomas High School, the University of Texas, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M. FieldTurf synthetic turf customers enjoy the benefits of significantly reduced water consumption, the elimination of fertilizer and pesticides, superior durability and drainage and a product that looks and feels real. The positive environmental impact of FieldTurf provides the added benefit of LEED building contributions.
