Coaches Comments: We are looking to be a very balanced Offensive team this season with most of our returners being at the skill positions. We will rely on speed and quickness defensively to get the job done. District is very competitive and could come down to a couple of plays or some key injuries for the 3 playoff spots.

Returning Lettermen: 14

Returning Starters: Offense: 7 Defense: 8

Key Players:
* Bradley Dills - LB/WR led team in tackles last year (165), very smart player who has a nose for the ball.

* Blake Hicks - QB/DB Great leader, has the ""It"" factor for getting job done. unselfish and a great decision maker.
* Matt Wilson - Center/DL - Very smart, athletic lineman
* Jordan Buckaloo - LB/OL Big, Physical run stopping line backer.
* Justin Bennett - QB/DB - Big strong arm, moves very well, physical DB.

* Ruben Garcia - OL/DL - Great technician on both sides of the ball.
* Ty Lynn- DE/TE - Long and athletic, will be big contributor this year on both sides of the ball.
* Austin Kitchens - WR/DB - Great route runner with good hands

* Jarrell Washington -- RB 1,212 yards rushing

Notes:
* Have gone 7-14 over the last 2 seasons

  • Mike Says: The Tigers bring back 15 starters from last years playoff team. They started the season at 1-4 before turning things around in district with a 4-1 record to end the season. Look for them to go 5-5 or 6-4 this season and come in 3rd in the district behind Gunter and Whitewright.
  • Chris Says: Leonard has a lot of talent but they are sitting in a pretty tough district.  The returning experience will serve them well especially players like Turner, Dills & Hicks.   The Tigers will hit district hard with a game against Whitewright and it should set the scene for how District 7-2A Division II shakes out.  Don't expect a lot of fireworks from Leonard in the playoffs, but they should make the postseason.
