Enrollment: 299 -- smallest in the district out of 7 schools

Mike Says: The Buffaloes not only move up to Division I they only have 6 lettermen returning. The good thing is that one of the returning players is Ty Tolleson who will lead on both sides of the ball. Look for them to go 7-3 or 6-4 in the regular season and come in 2nd in the district behind Winnsboro.

Chris Says: Lone Oak has a lot going against it this year. They are the smallest school in their district. They are only returning 6 experienced players from last season's 8-5 team. The move up to Division I, which means playoffs against larger schools. Geez, it all sounds pretty bad, right? Not all of it. The Buffaloes JV squad was impressive last season which implies that the new varsity kids should be decent. Lone Oak had a good playoff run last year and that will translate directly into the all-important playoff experience. Expect Winnsboro to be their biggest challenge for the district, but once in the playoffs, expect good things.
