  • Mike Says: The Matadors coach Servance has really turned things around. They do not have a lot coming back this year but they will have RB Johnson who will make a difference. Expect them to go 7-3 or 8-2 in the regular season and then make it to the Regionals. Their district will be fun with 4 or 5 teams fighting it out for the 3 playoff spots.
  • Chris Says: Lubbock Estacado has been one of the Panhandle teams that has been fun to watch over the past few seasons.  As far as starters, they don't bring back a lot of volume.  They do bring back Robert Johnson plus two of his blockers.  That alone will ensure the Matadors are a threat in every game.  I look for Estacado to eek into one of those playoff spots but make a quick exit from postseason.  Once you start matching up in the second and third round of the Class 3A playoffs, there are just too many good teams that can shut down a one option team.
