Coaches Comments: We are going to be inexperienced, but I think we have enough good players to compete for a district title and a playoff spot. Our players have a very good work ethic that should pay dividends. District Outlook: Brenham as always will be the favorite. Just about every team should have a chance to challenge for a playoff spot. I think Magnolia and Waller will surprise a lot of people.

Notes:
* Have had 3 consecutive 9+ win seasons going 30-8

  • Mike Says: The Bears only return 5 starters from last years 9-3 playoff team. They will still be good as usual though as coach Bolfing seems to always put out a good team. Wide Receiver Bell is set to have a great season. Look for them to go 7-3 or 8-2 in the regular season and battle Brenham for the district title. They have two very good non-district games against Angleton and Pearland Dawson. Even if they come out of those 2 games at 0-2 they will have learned a lot.
  • Chris Says: Montgomery doesn't have a lot of experience coming back, but those that are returning liked the playoff run last year and want to do it again.  Brenham should be the district champ, but Montgomery will be right in the thick of things for playoff spots.  The Bears experience with some tough pre-district games will pay big dividends at the end of the season when they need a win to reach postseason.  After that, expect them to last a couple rounds.
