Is Texas High School Football in Jeopardy?
A new website launched recently with a video and a message that the tradition of Texas high school football could be the next item on the educational chopping block.
Savetexasfootball.com is a site created by Progress Texas PAC, a group that claims the "Friday night lights could go out" if we do nothing. The video claims that privatization legislation promoted by state Senator Dan Patrick (R-Houston) will lead to a "pay to play" system resulting in lower income students and schools left unable to participate.
