- Mike Says: Rogers has been putting up big points on offense with scores of 84, 60, 76 and 68. Lexington QB Kogan Garrett is featured weekly in our For the Record. They will need big games from their defensive leaders LB Tyler Meyer (106 tackles) and Jason Washington to keep that high scoring Rogers offense off the field. Lexington wins the district championship with a win here. They are 1-2 in our LSG Games Of The Week this year but the 2 losses were to one of the top teams in Class 2A DI (Cameron Yoe) and to one of the top Class 3A teams (Navasota). The LEXINGTON EAGLES win a close one 35-34!!
- Chris Says: I can guarantee the Eagles are going to win this one! What? Too cheesy? I have to take the easy shots when I get them. Seriously, I have been looking forward to this one all year. While I think Lexington has a great team, I think this may be a Rogers year. Aside from their emotional loss to Blanco, Rogers has been a much more potent offense. Is it just that Rogers doesn't take their foot off the gas when playing a weaker team? Could be. In the end though, it will come down to who is ready to play four quarters. I don't see any quit in this Rogers team. If Rogers and Blanco both get wins, we are looking at a three way tie for the district title going into next week. I see that happening and the ROGERS EAGLES taking the win 38-20!!!
Are you a fan of either team? Call the voicemail line and leave a message about the game (713) 568-6361. Tell everyone at your school to do the same – then listen in future Lone Star Gridiron Shows to hear them all!!!
