- Mike Says: My pre-season pick was that these two schools would fight it out for the district championship. Both of these teams are already in the playoffs and both will go Division II and now they will fight it out for the district championship. They will play Krum and Bridgeport. Bill Elliott has done an outstanding job for his first year as the head coach of Celina. Argyle kicker Cole Hedlund is always in the For The Record articles each week and could be a factor in this game. The BOBCATS win it though 28-27!!
- Chris Says: We new the district would come down to this game and what a game it is shaping up to be. The thing that stands out is not only are both of these teams blowing through district, but Argyle is doing just a tad better in every single game. The other thing that stands out is Celina has the home field advantage. And what an advantage it is! Few towns put on a show of support like the Bobcats faithful. Expect a good contest and although on a neutral field, I would give the edge to Argyle, I think home field is a big deal here. BOBCATS win the game and the district 31-28!!!
Are you a fan of either team? Call the voicemail line and leave a message about the game (713) 568-6361. Tell everyone at your school to do the same – then listen in future Lone Star Gridiron Shows to hear them all!!!
